In Photoshop it's quite easy to apply texture to the inner areas of shapes. It's harder to apply authentically unpredictable textures to the edges of shapes.

These actions adjust the edges of raster shapes in Photoshop to emulate rough, torn or processed edges — without using any external texture image file. Just press go.

🖍️ Fine

A small-scale roughness. The overall shape stays mostly the same.

💣 Coarse

More like torn paper. Large-scale wobble with small scale-roughness.

🔨 Jagged

Wobbly, rough — and an unpredictable, semi-pixelated edge.
